Spring Game Safety Tips for Fans and Families

For the first time since December, football is set to be back at the Big House this weekend! The Annual Spring Game is set to take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Every spring, the event gives fans a chance to get their first look Michigan Wolverines, and see the newest members of the team in action.

The Division of Public Safety and Security wants spectators to have a fun and safe experience while at Michigan Stadium. Below are some friendly reminders before you visit the Big House:

Permitted and Prohibited Items

Fans are encouraged only to bring necessary items to football games at Michigan Stadium. Still, you can bring a seat cushion, cell phone or pagers, small cameras, radios, hats, rain apparel, and binoculars (without a case). You are not allowed to bring weapons, bags, bottles, drones, selfie sticks, or umbrellas. To see a complete list of permitted and prohibited items, click here.

Concessions and Alcohol

Concessions will be open like usual for the spring game, and all concession stands will be cashless. Alcohol sales will begin one hour before kickoff and stop at the start of the fourth quarter. Identification is required to purchase alcoholic beverages.

If you choose to drink alcohol, DPSS wants to remind all game attendees to consume it safely and in moderation, not drive after drinking, and utilize university resources such as Safe Ride and the Stay in the Blue app.

Parking

For the spring game, parking options near Michigan Stadium will be extremely limited due to other events and activities in the surrounding areas. Any available parking in the lots around Michigan Stadium, owned and operated by the University of Michigan, will be free and open to the public starting at 7 AM. No parking will be available at Pioneer High School or the U-M and AAGO Golf Courses. To find other parking and shuttle options, click here.

In the case of extreme weather, Michigan Stadium staff will make announcements over the public address system to inform spectators about the weather situation. Pay close attention to these announcements for instructions on where to go and what to do.

If you see suspicious behavior or activity, which can be any action that is out of place and does not fit into the usual day-to-day activity of our campus community, please report it.
