On Feb. 25, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a 22-year-old woman reported she was walking to the bus stop in the area of Lake Lila Drive near Plymouth Road when someone in a white or silver 4-door sedan drove past her, stopped, and then backed up.

A man then exited the car and tried to grab her. The victim reported that the man groped her and attempted to pull her toward his vehicle. The victim was able to push the suspect and break free. She was not injured and did not see which direction the suspect went. The suspect is described as a male approximately 20 to 30 years old with a full dark beard, 5’7”, and medium build. Sexual assault is any sexual activity that occurs in the absence of consent. The responsibility lies with the perpetrator, not the survivor – no one deserves, asks for, or provokes sexual assault. The University of Michigan Police Department’s Special Victims Unit strives to provide a safe, caring environment where victims are empowered to take action. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, we encourage you to report it to law enforcement.
