Location: Nichols Arboretum, near the Peony Gardens, 1610 Washington Heights, Ann Arbor
Offense: Felonious Assault
Summary: At approximately 1:30 a.m., an individual was sitting on a bench in the Nichols Arboretum near the Peony Gardens. He heard something behind him, and as he turned around, he was struck over his right eye with a glass bottle. The suspect then stuck a plastic airsoft-type pistol into the victim’s neck and told him to freeze. The victim punched the suspect, knocked him to the ground, and fled. UMPD is investigating this incident.
Suspect(s): Younger black male, about 5’10” to 6′ tall. Wearing blue jeans, a red hooded sweatshirt, with a white t-shirt underneath. Two tattoos were visible on the lower part of both forearms.
