U-M 2017-18 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report available now

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The University of Michigan Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR) for 2017-2018 is now available.

This comprehensive resource on campus safety is published each year by the Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) to provide the University community with information about public safety and emergency services, safety tips, University policies, laws, and support services.

The ASFSR also includes three-year statistics of reported crime, including bias-motivated crimes, on the Ann Arbor campus and adjoining properties.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires universities to provide their communities with this information so people can make informed decisions about their personal safety. You can find additional safety and security information, including Crime Alerts and the Daily Crime & Fire Log, on the DPSS website.

As one might expect of any large university campus, incidents do arise. However, as you review the ASFSR, you will find that the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus continues to be a safe place for our community to live, learn, work, heal and visit.

If you have any questions about the report, please do not hesitate to contact Erik Mattila, DPSS Clery Compliance Coordinator, at emattila@umich.edu.
