Are you interested in helping the University of Michigan community better prepare and respond to an emergency situation? We’d love to hear from you! Please join us for the kick off of the University of Michigan hazard mitigation planning process.
Date: Wed., May 2, 2018
Time: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Emergency Operations Center (1239 Kipke Dr.).
Attendees will learn more about the emergency management process and have the opportunity to contribute to creating a hazard mitigation plan.
Hazard mitigation means reducing the impact of hazards on people and property. A hazard mitigation plan identifies current and projected natural, man-made and technological hazards that may impact our University and includes strategies to reduce risks. By completing this plan, we will increase our University’s overall preparedness and resilience to hazards, which could ultimately save lives.
The U-M Hazard Mitigation Plan is led by DPSS Emergency Management with assistance from federal grant funding. This initial meeting will be free and open public. Please register for the event in advance. We look forward to hearing from you throughout the process!
