Staying safe on campus just got easier as the Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) launched a new website.
The new website offers improved navigation and functionality, so visitors to the site easily can access safety and security information and services.
Created with the user experience in mind, the website features responsive design, so it’s compatible with various browsers and mobile devices. The redesigned website will allow community members to:
-
- Stay informed on the latest campus safety news, updates and crime alerts
-
- Submit online forms such as:
- Report a crime or concern
- Provide compliments or complaints
- Register personal property
- Request an incident report
- Submit lost and found information
- Request a presentation
- Request a ride-along
- Apply for the DPSS Student Advisory Board
- Request event security
- Request security assessment
- Learn safety tips to prevent safety and security problems
- Submit online forms such as:
- Find practical information such as game day parking, how to sign up for emergency alerts, using DPSS fingerprinting services and much more.
The website redesign process took one year to complete. The project was launched collaboratively with Michigan Creative and was completed by the DPSS strategic communications team.
“Not only does the redesigned website offer important information that everyone should know,” said DPSS Executive Director Eddie Washington, Jr., “but it will also help to create a more meaningful two-way communication between DPSS and the U-M community–this will make everyone on campus more safe and secure.”
