Security Bulletin: Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm

The Ann Arbor Police Department (AAPD) has informed DPSS of an ongoing investigation into an off-campus assault that occurred in the 600 block of East William Street. According to AAPD, the victim reported seeing three suspects stealing items, including a handgun, from his vehicle. When the victim attempted to stop the theft and recover the weapon, it discharged, injuring him. The suspects fled the area in a silver sport utility vehicle. 

AAPD has stated this appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.
