In case of a serious event or emergency, what should I do?
Your safety is always our top priority! In case of any personal emergency, please call 911 immediately for assistance.
For other situations, here’s what to know:
- Stay Tuned for Updates: During an event, important directions will be shared through public announcements and messages on the video scoreboard. Please remain seated and listen carefully for instructions.
- Building Emergencies or Fires: If there’s a building emergency or fire, our Event Team and law enforcement personnel will guide you. For your safety, follow their directions, remain calm, and evacuate the building in an orderly manner.
- Weather or External Emergencies: If an emergency occurs outside the arena, a shelter-in-place order may be issued. Stay inside, and the order will remain until it’s safe to resume normal activities.
Thank you for helping us ensure everyone’s safety by staying calm and attentive during emergency situations. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding!
What is the alcohol policy at the Crisler Center?
Alcohol sales will begin throughout the arena one hour before the start of the game until the 10-minute mark of the second half for Men’s games, and the start of the fourth quarter for Women’s games. Identification is required to purchase alcoholic beverages.
The University of Michigan wants to remind all game attendees to consume alcohol safely and in moderation, not drive after drinking, and to utilize university resources such as Safe Ride and the Stay in the Blue app.
If one of my friends or I have drank too much, what should I do?
If you are concerned about your friend’s health and safety due to alcohol, call 911 immediately. If your friend is still responsive, you can help them sit up comfortably and give them water to drink.
There will also be medical stations throughout the arena. If you need assistance, contact a member of the event staff.
What do I do if someone I’m with or a child is separated from my group?
Before the game starts, it's a good idea to agree on a designated meeting spot with your group in case anyone gets separated. Common meeting points could include gates, sections, or nearby landmarks.
If you cannot reach them using a cell phone, you can always contact a member of the stadium staff or a security team member or go to the Guest Services Booth for assistance.
If a child gets lost, the parent/guardian should report it to the nearest Police Officer or Event Team Member as soon as possible.
What if I feel unsafe or see something concerning while at the arena?
Even if you’re unsure of what is happening, the best thing to do is report it to event security or other staff. You may help prevent violence or theft.
