The University of Michigan’s Division of Public Safety and Security’s (DPSS) mission is to ensure a safe and secure environment and improve the quality of life for all members of the campus community, with an emphasis on community outreach, prevention and education. With 12 unique departments grounded in prevention, protection, prevention and partnerships, DPSS offers an integrated approach to public safety. Working across three major university campuses, including one of the largest healthcare complexes in the nation, the communities we serve are vibrant and diverse.

Providing resources to our campus communities is vital in being a proactive and global leader in the public safety, security, and law enforcement industry. Whether you’re a student, faculty or staff member, we want to help ensure that all the resources available with the university environment are easily available to you.

Remember: In any emergency situation, you should dial 911. For situations that are not emergencies, please see the following list of highlighted resources offered at each campus. Be sure to swing by each campus’s safety websites provided in each section for even more resources available!
